![]() ![]() Possible problems(?): Continuing refrigerant leak? Bad sensor in ref loop, disengaging clutch, or preventing condenser fan from coming on? I don't know the actual control hierarchy, so I'm just guessing here. I also did not get fault codes, if any, from dealer(assuming, again, that they plugged their reader into my RL). What I have not done is run the system and watched to see if condenser fan kicks in I'm assuming it does not, since I got some cooling when I got up to speed, presumably from unassisted air coming through condenser. I even checked to see if condenser fan functioned by hotwiring it. ![]() Troubleshooting I've done: Following steps in Service Manual, checked all fuses, proper functioning of fan control relay, condenser fan relay, proper communication between these relays. Pull into garage, shut down, radiator fan comes on. Later that same day (today), air blows cold for a while, then doesn't as I meander through town, then cools off as I get up to speed outside of town. Took it back, bad valve stem on low pressure side, fixed and recharged on their dime. Independent mech, on advice of another dealer's service department, only replaced clutch/stator and o-rings at connectors to compressor(since compressor had to come out to replace clutch), $525. Dealer diagnosis: replace compressor, clutch, stator, for $1300+. This was out of the ordinary for me, as my previous RL(also '06 RTL) never displayed this behavior. First thing out of the ordinary that I noticed was the radiator fan coming on after I had shut the engine off. I have an '06 RTL/nav, 130K miles, purchased in February with 122K.Ī/C seemed to blow cold earlier this spring, but recently stopped, as soon as ambient temps blew past 80.
